At Dunn Street Primary School, we believe every child’s educational journey is a story of growth, discovery and potential. That journey begins in our nurturing Two-Year-Old Provision, where our youngest learners start as Acorns—small, curious and full of possibility.

As children move through school, they grow through each stage of our learning family:

• Acorns – our two-year-olds taking their very first steps into learning

• Seeds – beginning to explore, play and build early foundations

• Buds – growing in confidence, curiosity and independence

• Blossoms – flourishing as learners, friendships and abilities bloom

• Magnificent Seven – developing greater resilience, responsibility and a stronger sense of self

• Oaks – standing tall as role models, gaining maturity and preparing for the challenges ahead

• Mighty Oaks – strong, confident and ready to move on to secondary school with pride

By the time they reach the end of primary school, our pupils have grown into Mighty Oaks—strong, capable and ready to face new challenges with resilience and pride.

Our motto, “From tiny seeds grow mighty oaks,” reflects our belief that every child has extraordinary potential. With the right care, support and opportunities, each one can grow, thrive and become the very best version of themselves.
